Where Devon meets Dorset...
Tucked away in peaceful open countryside and approached down the leafy lanes of Hawkchurch - the 'village of roses' -
Fairwater Head Hotel is just five miles from Lyme Regis, four miles from Axminster (and Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's famous River Cottage Canteen)
and six miles from Charmouth and the Jurassic coast - England's first natural World Heritage Site, which covers 95 miles of stunning coastline from east Devon to Dorset.
The hotel combines all the charm and elegance of a privately owned, three-star, country house hotel. Nestled in three acres of beautiful gardens, it is a place of comfort, award-winning food, tranquillity and stunning sunsets. Of the 16 bedrooms, four are situated in the original 1900 building. Two have jacuzzi baths and one features a four-poster bed. Our other rooms are light, airy and en-suite, with views over the gardens.
Here you can appreciate the best of Devon's produce cooked by our award-winning chefs, using, wherever possible, local ingredients. In the winter, sit by the fire and enjoy a good book, and in summer relax with an afternoon cream tea on the patio, taking in the superb views of the Axe Valley and surrounding countryside. Later, unwind with a drink in the west-facing bar and watch the sun set. |

Dogs are most welcome and stay free of charge. All bedrooms are dog friendly, as are the bar, sitting room, terrace and gardens.
